Adding a Personal Touch With Your Brand

Consumers grasp for values and beliefs when it comes to Millennials up to Gen-Z's.

It's essential that your customer is impacted in some way by what you do and how you do it.

The underlying question: Are you doing anything to give your brand a unique personality?

The answer is probably no.

Every small business owner wants to appeal to their target audience in a different and innovative way, yet they typically either don't know how to do it or they just don't hustle to put ideas into motion.

Lucky for you, this article will show you different ideas that will differentiate your business from the ever-growing crowd in your niche that you can take action on immediately.

Adding Epic Value Through Written Content Marketing

Adding exceptional value to your business is an essential part of your marketing strategy.  However, it can be the most difficult and daunting task that we encounter as entrepreneurs.

In this article, we are going to explore why written content is so important to adding value to your business, and simple actionable items that you can implement immediately to increase your brand authority, joining the 27% of B2C marketers that actually have a content strategy.

The Struggle Is Real...

Roadblocks, self-discouragement, and that irritating white screen with blinking cursor are just the few distractions that we deal with when attempting to provide bonuses to our products and services.

Using written content (such as blogs, emails, and social media posts) could arguably be the best way to give our raving fans the increased attention they desire.  At the same time, the constant problem with this medium is that we tend to either have writer’s block or memory loss when it comes to taking action and putting the pen to the paper.

Building Trust Through Social Media: Snapchat

Social media has become an integral part of life for most people around the world.  Each day, millions of individuals wake up and immediately check what happened on their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

What if I told you there was an established social media platform that most people don't fully understand, yet it is the next big trend?

What if I told you that one simple social app would take your brand to a whole new level by simply creating 10-second videos and photos that disappear within 24-hours?

How can you immediately build trust & relationships with your consumers and convert them into raving fans?

With over 100 million daily active users, Snapchat is proving to be the ultimate information-sharing hub on the internet... and all in real-time.

For good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument, debate.

So what is this Snapchat thing?

Before we jump into why you should be using this for your business, it is important to understand what this tool really is.

Let's take a look at what you have heard about Snapchat versus the core purpose of the tool.

What You've Probably Heard...

So in the past, the general public has looked at Snapchat as a secret messaging platform.  One that promotes scandalous and inappropriate behavior...

It has been thought of an oasis for high schoolers to private message their friends or significant others' secretly without their parents knowing.  Or used by cheating husbands or wives so their spouse wouldn't see the conversation.

Even better yet... it was a way to send those awesome photos that only you and a higher deity should ever see or know about... and never get caught in the act.

Admittedly, you could certainly use this platform for any one of these instances... just like you can abuse all other social platforms.

What Snapchat Really Is

Now that we've gotten the dirty stuff out of the way, let's look at what Snapchat really is.

This platform is a multimedia platform where you can post pictures or 10-second videos to either the "My Story" function, or directly to a user.  When you post to either function, you have 24-hours to watch or view that person's story or message before it disappears.

The catch?  Once you view someone's direct snap message again?  You're in luck!  You get one replay per day.  The catch? You have the option to pay for more replays.  You are allowed to replay stories for free, though.

In the snaps, you are able to put filters and geofilters on your videos or photos.  Geofilters use your navigation function of your device to determine where you are currently at, and what filters are available for your area (hint: I'll get to this shortly).

Why you should already be using this...

"So what does this mean for my business?" you ask?

Today's consumers look to brands to be trustworthy and transparent, honest and value-driven.  While we have had "behind-the-scenes" tours for ages now, people are becoming more digitally driven with their habits.

With Snapchat, you can complete all of this with a simple video or photo that you take from your cell phone.  You can provide tidbits of information to your audience.

Give limited-time only tips and secrets.  You could even go for the right hook with a time-sensitive deal that only your Snapchat followers will get.

In your location or on you website, post your Snapcode.

Want your brand awareness to spread like wildfire?  Create a geofilter for your fans to use when they're at a function or simply shopping in your location.

Next time you go to a mall or a metropolitan city, see what geofilters are available.  You'll get the idea.

Here's an awesome guide by Gary Vaynerchuk on how to create and implement a Snapchat Geofilter.

Your action items

First, I want you to download the Snapchat app if you haven't already.

Next, just be you.  As a startup entrepreneur, you've created a brand that you are proud of, and it contains a piece of you and your personality.  Show your brand off.  Anything goes.

The key with any social media is to post frequently.  Add me on Snapchat.  I'd love to see what you're coming up with and want to see your success!
